Where to start? I’m not sure where those years have gone; they have certainly flown by! My husband Paul and I bought Farm & Country in 2005 with no previous retail experience, just a desire to provide excellent customer service and value-for-money products. The business has grown considerably over the years, with new product lines added as a result of listening to what our customers want. We aim to provide a wide range of products to save you time and fuel travelling further afield.

Many friendships have developed over the years, and we are always happy to take time to chat; as farmers ourselves we appreciate the issues facing the agricultural industry today. We have shared both happy times and sad times; laughed and cried; but thankfully mainly laughed and appreciated the support we have been given over the years.

Even after 16 years, people still call into the shop who have been driving by every day not realising the wide range of products we stock. If you are one of them, why not call in and have a wander around to see what the shop has to offer. There’s plenty of parking and a warm welcome is guaranteed.

We would be nothing without our amazing full and part-time team that work hard to provide excellent customer service - Mike, Colin, Matt, Tracey, Eira & Ryan. We keep Paul at home on the farm looking after our much-loved herd of dairy cows.

I am proud that we remained open throughout the COVID lockdown and managed to keep ourselves and our customers safe - undertaking deliveries and fulfilling telephone orders for collection, etc.

A recent addition to the shop is the Forest of Dean Candle Company; making fragranced candles hand-poured on site by our daughter, Eira and myself. We also love to showcase other small businesses and have recently rented some shelves to local artists, photographers and crafters, details of which can be found on our website.

We really appreciate the support of local people and in turn support as many businesses in the Forest as we can.

Looking forward to meeting you,

Ursula
